Journal I - Rambling

I was looking at my journals the other day and realized how incredibly plain and 'non-personalized' they are.... if that counts as a word. I don't know if I just don't know what to write? Or felt like I needed to say something? I don't know... maybe I'll try the 'write a whole lot' thing just this once. If I like it I may try it again, who knows : )
I'm not really one of those 'blogger' types where you write your whole life online, don't worry!
My summer was quite fun, I really enjoyed pretty much everything I did during those two months. I got to do a bit of travelling, see some cool stuff and enjoy sitting around by my cabin. I got to do what felt like lots of riding, just not as much showing as last year. This year was a bit different where I got to be a 'catch rider' for a few people, and it was really fun! Riding other people's horses' is, what I think, one of the best things you can do as a rider. It helps you get well rounded out and learn how to adjust your aids and other tips and tricks that help you out along the way. This is my boy, Chevy syeiraxx.deviantart.com/galler… is my baby and I absolutely love him. He is definitely one of those horses that you keep for life.
Just recently I also got to try him in an Arabian style costume! It was so so so cool. The costume was originally his father's as well, and when he wore it he was ridden in shows too. The costume is a gorgeous black, gold, and coloured beads. It is GORGEOUS! I absolutely love it. Chevy didn't mind wearing it at all, in fact I think he almost fell asleep! He was pretty calm that day. I have been drawing horsey art on my computer too, just in case you guys were wondering! I know I have put up quite a bit of 'non-horsey' items, but changing it around is fun. When I see contests I just love the challenge of sticking within their parameters and creating something that you hope will be unique. I have one picture on the go at the moment, well I actually have way more than one, but I think those will be sitting around for a little while. Anyways, with this picture I've been playing around with painting styles. I'm not sure if I've found my favourite style or not. This cell shading thing has been pretty fun, and I quite enjoy it. I find it easier than the other methods. But then if I want to do like some realism, then I have to use the other way which I still like, just its alittle more timely. I've played around with blending the two together, but I'm just not too sure yet. What kind of style do you guys like best? and why?
I would really love to do trades again too, but at the moment I have absolutely no time for extra drawing. So if I do decide to do some than the recipients of those would have to wait a little while, if thats okay. What do you all think?
I would also like to give some awareness to a group that I belong to! It is an Arabian Horse group, for ALL kinds of art that features the Arabian Horse in some way or another! At the moment we are a small group, but we are growing
