About the Horses
Bacabello Stallion
Name: Dumisa, meaning 'Causes Thunder'
Ability: To cause storms (hence his name)
Identification: Silver Dapple Moss Bacabello
Colour: Silver Dapple with Moss markings
Build: Built like a Friesian, long mane and tail with feathery feet.
Markings: Same on both sides
Tattoo: On his right hip only
Adornments: Gold necklace with a diamond in the middle wrapped around his leg
Background:
Dumisa was born into a small herd that wasn't well rounded. His mother had been stolen from his father's herd when she had went off to give birth to him. His mother was fairly old and fought as best as she could, but when Dumisa's life was on the line she gave up, accepting what happened to them. Dumisa knew no different though. He would play with the other foals and have a fairly normal childhood. At night he would stay by his sad mother and listen to the stories of his father, wishing that he could one day meet him.
When Dumisa was a yearling he finally saw what was happening within his herd. There were many problems, and his poor mother was being abused by almost everyone. Dumisa was powerless to help her out, but that didn't stop his anger. One night thought, he had been pushed too far. They were in a thick, dry forest when it happened. Dumisa had found his ability, to cause storms. The heart of the storm was right above them, and lightning struck the dry trees and the forest erupted into flames. Dumisa was new at this and not yet sure how to control his own power. His herd fled in every direction. The smoke was blinding and the heat was unbearable. Disoriented, Dumisa found a way out of the flames, but he was alone. Dumisa did not wish to go back and find his herd, just his mother. He called for her, and searched for her, but there was no answer. He waited for 3 days, and nothing happened. There was no one there.
After that, young Dumisa found himself being the youngest member of a herd of bachelors. He seemed to fit right in, but he was always looking over his shoulder for his mother. A few years later, Dumisa went off by himself. He was experienced enough to know how to get by. He had many other adventures along the way as well.
Then one night, the pieces of his puzzle seemed to fit together. He saw a flash of blue and bay. The most gorgeous eyes he had ever seen. She had ran by him whilst he was drinking. He knew it was not his mother, and obviously not his father. There was just something about her. It was as if he had really been searching for her all of those years and not for his lost parents. Dumisa took off, following her trail, he had to meet her. He found her stopped in a meadow, and he stopped breathing. He found he couldn't take a breath, for her beauty literally took his breath away. Somehow he found a way to squeak out the words, "Hello, I'm Dumisa." After that day, everything was perfect.
Personality: Dumisa may seem rather daunting when you don't know him. He is usually quiet around strangers, but it was very kind. He has a softness to him that only a few of his close friends and family see. He loves his family most of all and would do anything to protect them.
Bacabella Filly
Name: Kirabo, meaning 'Gift' (Nicknamed Kira)
Ability: Unknown
Identification: Dark Bay Cobalt Bacabella
Colour: Dark Bay with cobalt markings
Build: A mix of her mother & father. She has more of her mother's body, but she has her father's hair. Her feet as just slightly feathered.
Markings: A mix of her mother & father, same on both sides
Tattoo: Will appear on her left side when an adult
Adornments: None yet
Personality: As playful and as curious as any young foal, she is still coming into her own and her personality will show more as she grows.
I had a lot of fun designing these too, and I love the Bacabello breed! It is very cool. I had a hard time choosing Dumisa's colours, but I am rather happy with them right now
and he has tiny little dapples all over too!
